Recently got them on (about 2 months ago). I think that they are an excellent riding tire, and handle very well. Sorry I can not comment much on the wear of them, I like yourself, was/am also concerned about that issue as well. If they do wear very fast, I plan on calling Pirelli and b&#*@ing them out for a bit, demanding new tires, or most likey a discount on a new set. I had Michlien MX-4's on previously and found that they wore in about 30-35k, mainly do to the fact of the accelerated wear of the outter edge of the front tires, caused when turning. When I had the 4k's put on, I had them align the front end to the "Euro Spec" which elimates the tilt of the rim/tire in a turn. The Mich were fine tires, a bit pricey, but were VERY bad in traction both wet and dry (And was VERY dangerous in light snow; Drove from FL to OH rainning and snowing the entire way with bald MX4...not ever again!). I am not sure of how the 4k's will perform when they begin to get down in the tread, but I think that nothing could have been as bad as the mx4s. (or at least i hope).
Sorry for the rambeling...

Also, the step up to the 195/60-15 over the 185/65-15 was also a very good thing, and I would highly recommed it.
