Car: 85 8-valve
I'm having a booger of a time getting my clutch to disengage after doing a clutch (full clutch/pressure plate/slave cylinder replacement) and master cylinder job. The slave just won't move far enough to disengage the clutch - and I've bled about 2 liters of fluid through the system, trying both a mighty-vac (this worked fine prior to the clutch job when I replaced the fluids after buying the car last year), and the old standard "press the pedal, open the valve" process. The clutch pedal feels as strong as it was prior to the job...but the slave just doesn't move far enough to even fit the spacer tool back into the pressure plate (it moved it just enough to pull the spacer out with a bit of effort, though).
Is it possible that there were different bores for the master cylinder depending on the vehicle - so that I may have the wrong one? What about the slave...I'd suspect the two would have to match...
Thanks for any info!!
