It sounds to me like you might have a loose hose clamp or some sort of leak in the plumbing that holds up to a point and then springs a leak. Check vac/pressure line to hooter valve. Also check all the vacuum/pressure lines and connections. Clean out the APC solenoid with carb spray and WD40 and clean the electrical connector. Clean the electricla connector on the knock sensor under the intake runners.
If it sort of hesitates and misses under heavy boost the problem could just be spark plug gaps that have eroded (regap to 0.024) or a bad distributor rotor.
If that doesn't solve the problem, you might have a problem with your pressure transducer or the vacuum lines going to it. The procedure to test is to measure resistance at various pressure levels. this is described in detail in the Bentley manual.
