Monitor either the Lambda pulse ratio or O2 sensor voltage under the conditions when the engine likes to knock. Another test is to disconnect the wide open throttle switch and connect a manual switch located in the cabin. When the engine is knocking flip the switch, Lambda is set to a pulse ratio ot 75%, and see if the knocking stops.

How's the fuel filter? It sounds like you're running lean and it could be as simple as a plugged filter.
