Check the pins at the AMM by peeling back the connector shroud. I can't quite remember which pins to check (there's only 5) but at least a couple of them should read around 2 volts relative to ground. Do this with the engine running. My old 90 900s did this and I didn't find any voltage. If you happen to have or borrow a known good AMM pop it in there and see waht happens.
