I've had the Zimmerman Cross-drilled rotors on my front brakes for about 6 months now (I'm guessing 4-5,000 miles). I put on new Textar Pads at the same time. I have no complaints about there performance, just abnormal wear. Brake dust has gone up ten fold over the old Bendix Pads and Stock Rotors I used to use. I'm experiencing uneven wear radially across the rotor, as well - high spots in line with each of the drilled holes and low spots in between. It's almost like the holes are wearing away the section of the pads that they run across, leaving more pad thickness to apply more pressure to the area between the holes.
I'm not exactly sure how long or soft of a break-in period your supposed to give these rotors, but I'm hardly an aggressive driver, and I know I spent the first week or so, babying them. So, what went wrong?
I'm going back to stock rotors and maybe the EBC Green Stuff pads once these pads wear out.
