fog light switch <-> recirc switch

Hi,
RE: '90 900S
Has anyone disassembled a Recirc or A/C or Fog light switch?
You see, my recirculation switch wasn't making contact after it was depressed (it only worked when held in). So, I got a hold of a fog light switch at the junk yard.
This new fog light switch works -- BUT-- if possible, I prefer to have the black recirculation button and not have 2 fog lights buttons.....
OK, so (1) I have recirc switch out of the car using the two-screwdriver-gently-pry-method.
(2) I have gotten the back of the switch that holds the spring inside it off -- exposing the inner workings of the mechanism (the white housing that contains the contacts and the delicate fine wires). I can now see this white housing slide back and forth inside the black rectangular outer housing.
(3) Now, how does one separate the black button from the white contact housing?? How did you pry it apart -- and not break it?
Can this be done?!
Thanks for your help/suggestions/insight/input.
