DET,
I'm with Greg on this one - sounds like a classic case of igntion-moduleitis. The 3 life stages of the module are typically as follows:
1) Works all the time
2) Dies when hot
3) Never works
Going from stage 1 to 3 can take seconds to months depending on your luck.

P.S. One other possibility: the hall-effect pickup for the timing (I think it's down by the harmonic damper pulley on that year, otherwise in the bottom of the distributor). This signal drives both fuel injection and ignition. So if injection works (have someone listen for fuel pump running) but no spark, the ignition module is likely the culprit. If no injection and no spark, more likely the hall effect.
