Nunzio just said it all! Thats with a Bosch al 124X.
Make SURE the alternator mounting bushings get replaced at the same time. I recommend to use the original type and NOT the urathane bushings as the center sleeve will crush in several months and you be doing them again.
On another note ....This Saturday, I will have to drive half way across the state to replace the alternator in my stranded daughters 88 900 SPG at the beach. Man Im going to love it in this heat. Its a job I have done many times but not in a motel parking lot :-)
A good rule of the thumb is if the battery light fails to indicate, chances are good its either a ground wire at the alternator or the Alt Voltage Regulator.
If battery light stays on with the engine running ...Its the Alternator.
Anyone know a good fair Saab mechanic in Wilmington Wrightsville beach area? ... If not I need a beach vacation anyway.
