In case you no one told you or you found out the hard way (like me) - if you're replacing your brake master cylinder and specifically the resevoir be warned: the little plastic outlet fitting that supplies the clutch master cylinder is SEALED and needs to be cut off to allow brake fluid to flow down to the clutch master!

I had to replace mine a few months ago and never even thought to check this. I made the swap and everything was fine. For a few months when my clutch master started needing to be pumped up. Ok, I just turned 200k and figured it was time to rebuild the clutch master. No big deal. Rebuilt the clutch master and proceeded to bleed the clutch. Nothing. Pressure bleeding from the top, pumping the pedal. Nothing. Ok, relax, check the archives, see if I was missing anything. Nope. Even tried a nifty suggestion of running a hose from the left front brake caliper bleed nipple directly to the the clutch master thinking the seals were just being stubborn and needed a little extra boost to get it bled.

Ok, back to basics. Let's make sure fluid is being supplied to the clutch master. Nothing. Supply hose is dry! Pull off hose, inspect plastic supply nipple from brake resevoir. SEALED!!! What the #&^%$@(*&. Whose bright idea was this? And how come nobody told me to cut it off???!!!! Ok, so I didn't read the directions - my fault.

So don't say you weren't warned. If you're replacing your brake master cylinder or more specifically, the brake fluid resevoir - make sure the you snip off the end of the nipple that supplies fluide to the clutch master cylinder.
