If you remove the thermostat it can ruin your engine. It will overheat. One of the jobs of the thermostat is to hold coolant back in the engine block so that it absorbs the heat. With no thermostat the coolant does not absorb enough heat from the head and block of the engine. Very Very bad. It can cook the oil and warp the head. Replace it with a stock thermostat from Saab.
