It is likely that the transmission is not going to last much longer. A band adjustment and fluid change by a transmission shop will not cost much and *may* get it working again but only for a short time if at all. I recommend trying that first anyway. If anything, it may buy you some time to decide what to do next (and save up some $$). Considering that 123K is about the average lifespan of a BW37 (mine failed at 132K), I would consider this the beginning of the end. There is no way to know how long it might last but the history of these units indicates it will be sooner than later. When it does fail, its likely that it will happen very suddenly, and will completely immobilize the car. Do a search on this BB and you will find many stories similar to yours. At least you are given some warning, many BW37s drive/shift perfectly right up until failing catastrophically. Sorry for the bad news and good luck.
