Just your luck I spent the better part of this afternnon in search of a new antenna cable core (the plastic rise/lower cable snapped on mine). Sad news is that after searching two scrap yards I didn't find one core that also wasn't snapped in two. The good news for you is that I know how to disassemble the unit. What you gotta do is remove the whole thing from below to be able to remove the broken antenna from the motor unit. It's quite simple actually. First expose the antenna motor behind the trunk carpeting. Disconnect the antenna lead and the red and green power wires. There's two screw bolts that hold the lower section in place, and then the top piece (should have a hex shape) which unscrews so you can lower the whole thing down to remove it. Then there's two, maybe three small philips head screws which hold the antenna to the motor section. When those are removed the whole antenna can then be pulled free. However, since the inner plastic cable on your unit is still intact, you won't be able to remove the antenna simply by pulling. For that you'll have to disassemble more (one 8mm nut holds a cover in place) to expose the inner coil and manually turn the wheel until all the plastic cable uncoils. If you pull on the cable without also turning the wheel inside, it will more than likely just snap.
The piece I was in search for was the inner cable, which connects to the inside (thinnest) mast of the antenna, the part of the antenna which extends fully. To remove that from the rest of the antenna you unscrew the very top round knob from the thin solid mast on which it sits. I used a strong pair of pliers to grip the mast while unscrewing the top knob. Once that is removed the inner plastic core along with the mast can easily be pulled down through the antenna body.
I'll guess the trickiest part of a reassembly is feeding the plastic cable back into the motor while manually turning the coil wheel until it's fully coiled inside and the antenna is at it's lowest.
Josh, will you be needing that inner core mast and the attached plastic cable? My guess is that if you find a complete unbroken antenna, you'll then have two unbroken inner core cables. So if you're just going to pitch that extra one, I could sure use it.
