Kevin hit it right on the money. (I know only from reading the Bentley 8V book, though, no personal experience). To the best of my memory ability:

---BELOW HAPPENS AT WOT (Wide-Open Throttle)---
1981 Turbos had the CIS computer set the Lambda mod (modulation) valve frequency at 80% at 3,000 rpm or above--meaning it's open 80% of the time, which is rather rich, but needed during hard acceleration.
1982-1984 Turbos had the Lambda mod valve duty cycle at 75% at 3,500 rpm and above, if I remember correctly. I could be wrong on those numbers, though.
