What are symptoms of dying/dead AMM?

I swapped out a known good AMM from my 94 C900TC to my 90 SPG. The SPG has required extra cranking on cold starts and not the best idle when cold (but the car warms up quickly). This morning idle was as about 1100 until she warmed up.

Another quirk was that if I ran really hard in lower gears, the car seemed to hiccup (sp?) at somewhere between 2500 and 3000 on pedal to the floor acceleration.

Are these dying AMM symptoms? Or should I look at vacuum leaks?

The motor will be stone cold when I start up in the morning, so I'll see how she acts with the new AMM.
