over here in the UK we have a 60 mph blanket limit on single carriageway and 70 mph on dual carriageway roads.. bin this way fer years.. i have driven for say 30 years and a million miles with no speeding convictions and no accidents.. for the last five years i havnt driven at all.. anyway i decided to join the motoring world again recently.. within three weeks i had collected my first speeding ticket and three penalty points.. speeding cameras have appeared.. these things are a menace.. no defence against em and they are on duty 24/7.. unlike the cops they just zapp u.. there is no human judgment involved at all and they never knock off.. u dont even know u have been zapped till two weeks later when u get the ticket.. the things are a wonderfull money making machine and its said their use is gonna increase dramatically.. i dont mind the fine its the three penalty points with nine and u get the ban thats the problem..

i believe in driving at a speed that suits the conditions.. which to me means i can go faster at 3 a.m. in the morning on empty roads than i can at busier times.. u have my total symphathy..

mind u.. it seems i have to learn how to drive all over again.. something which i admit i am finding hard to do.. he he

still a little bit of public protest as opposed to blind acceptance never does any harm.. dont feel too guilty..
