my 83 saab alternator stopped charging my battery so I thought new voltage regulator, put it in and now alternator charges battery, but the car will not turn off and when its running I cant use any electrical Accesories lights radio etc... and the battery light stays on all the time even when car off, To turn off car I turn ignition to off and pull White with green wire off the back of the alternator, with this wire off and my battery charged, the car will start, run and all the lights and electrical stuff works like normal on till the battery dies, New battery, new ground lines from alternator to engine block and from Alt to good body ground, Also Used jumping wire from positive side of coil to back side of Alternator(where White/green wire goes)and got the same condition as before. So I removed alternator and took it to be check and it performed all charging tests perfectlly, no bad Diodes, I tryed removing all fuses and relays for whats not needed to run the car (lights radio heater)this does not solve my problem. Could it still be a bad diode even though it tested ok Or maybe a bad White with green wire.......Help
