The other day while humming along the interstate at the 75 mph speed limit admiring the handling qualities of a new set of SPG coils/ball joints/tie rod ends and a fresh alignment on my 92 900 a significant vibration appeared; After a 10 hr. uneventful enjoyable drive on two lanes and interstate....while descending down a fairly steep section of highway with the car fairly heavily loaded and in a high speed left sweeper I noticed a vibration develop in the steering with a slight steering wheel shimmy. As I straitened out the vibration went away and in right turn of equal lateral force there was no vibration. Then making another left sweeper at 75mph the vibration began again. It seemed to intensify and diminish as the lateral force of the turn was changed while in the left turn. The vibration then remained while on a straight section of road following the winding section. As I reduced speed(off the gas coasting in gear)the vibration seemed to remain regardless whether or not I was accelerating or decelerating . My first thought was a failing wheel bearing...but as I slowed and tried to figure what to do at 3am in the middle of now where the vibration went away competely.I drove another hour and half vibration free and after unloading the car and driving for several days there hasnt been any more vibration, In fact perfection has returned.I am curious to the cause of now what seems to be an intermittant anomoly which will probably return under similar circumstances. At this point it appears to less likely wheel bearing related and maybe related to the drivers or axles or both. Tri-bearings and drivers were changed a 100k (146K today). Any ideas would be appreciated Thanks Jk....Happy New Year!
