For what it's worth:
Sadly my nearly fully restored '85 turbo sedan ('92 head, water cooled turbo, timing chain, new tranny, clutch, new headliner, new wheel bearings, new front calipers, steering rack etc.) bit the dust when I was t-boned by a 2000 Toyota Echo. The Echo was doing approx. 40mph when the driver ran a stop sign and prematurely ended my car's life.
Now getting beyond the tragedy ... does anyone know where I can find a solid SPG model (I'm limited to the east coast, DC area)? My mechanic mentioned possibly pulling the engine and tranny to drop into another chasis ... the Echo's license plate hit my right front wheel squarely (enough to stamp her license plate into my wheel) would pulling this engine be safe? Also how do the 9000's compare to the 900 ... would anyone recommend switching over? Are there certain years to avoid? Any suggestions would be appreicated, thanks in advance!
