make heaters that dont work in traffic.. it dosnt make sense.. i also cant possibly imagine how a stat can do this so called shutting of flow to the cars heater at high cooling temps..

all coolent flow has to go thru the engine.. thats where the pump is.. the engine cannot be by-passed.. switching a heater off will in no way make an engine run cooler.. and having a cold car in traffic by design is pure nonsense..

with the stat closed coolent goes thru the engine and the heater (silly heater by-pass valve apart).. when the stat opens the coolent goes thru the maaain radiator as well.. i cant for the life of me see any way the stat can shut off flow to the heater core..

if a saab stat does do this weird thing its damn could reason for fitting a none saab stat.. the hotter my coolent gets.. the hotter my heater gets.. which is exactly how it should be from my point of view..

at the risk of being controversial.. i think this three way stat thing is one of those saab myths.. in other words bullsh-t..
