How about the temp sensor wire?

I have been checking around on this subject due to owning a 1990 SPG with Cal. emmisions and want to upgrade the ecm with a fuel chip, but first must disable the egr. I think the sensor is in the egr valve, so if that is removed, did you just leave the wire alone?
