The pedal switches are prone to mis-alignment and should be checked but generally on the later models the control modules do have a high failure rate here in Australia due to the higher heat conditions. The solderjoints crack and operation stops. On my module, the solder was worse on the red capacitors installed. The capacitor body exdpands and contracts with the temperature changes and over time, with the laquer over the board, the components can't move, so the stress is eventually released through the solderjoint cracking.
How do I know this? I work in a television studio and see this manufacturing process in a lot of equipment.
Thankfully, 9 times out of 10, it is an easy fix.
Remove Module,
Dismantle module,
Clean Red laquer from solder side of board,
Resolder board,
Reassemble and away you go.
I not aware of the location of the module in the LHD models but on RHD it's a pain to have to remove the kick panel to remove two screws to drop the module.......
Cheers
