Doug...I'm also looking for a sport muffler for my pristine '91 SPG (new speed bump gauntlet at a US Forces compound in Heidelberg got my sport muffler!) but I wouldn't pay $299! Mine was the last SPG built and I picked it up in Trollhattan with OER muffler. Lived in Stuttgart (now in Heidelberg) and I bought my sport muffler (SCHALLDÄMPFER) at a SAAB dealership in Stuttgart. I just dug out the purchase slip and when I take out the German 16% tax that I didn't have to pay and do the conversion from D-Marks to dollars I paid about $180 (July '91). The original SAAB part number for this muffler was #137003901. The muffler's no longer available through SAAB in the States. We may have to pay the higher price. I'm looking at both the big SAAB dealership in Mannheim (they still have a lot of old parts) and with the Deutsche-SAAB Club. My bottom line answer right now is don't pay $299 yet; I still think it's available for less! JP...Heidelberg, Germany...
