the drain plug may be hard to break free. Take a big hammer (I used a 32 oz model) and strike the puck once, very firmly. Worked like magic; it came right out.
Now why is it low. One of my Saabs would puke almost all its tranny oil within a week, then be fine for a few weeks as I watched the level carefully and became comfortable, then it would puke it all again over a few days. Solved it. One poster a while back suggested drilling a small breather hole thru the plastic top of the tranny dipstick. The tranny only has one other breather port and that is on the cap on the front, top of the chain case. It's pretty hard to get to, but I've seen it covered with enough oil & dust so that it is sealed. When the case cannot breath, pressure accumulates when it is warm and that little pressure forces the oil out wherever it will go. It's a real iffy thing. So make sure it can breathe.
Also note number of posters highly recommend Honda MTF as tranny oil.
