Hello again, car is a '87 turbo 8 valve with a blown head gasket and possibly turbo as well.

The local Saab service center gave me a price quote of approx. $1000 for the gasket and an additional $1200 for the turbo. So I'm looking to replace the engine. I've got access to an 86' carburetor normally aspirated engine, which will fit quite nicely in my car.

To get a litte more power out of it, I'd like to convert it to the C-Jetronic system on the dead engine. I believe this should be as simple as swapping over the intake manifolds and some wiring (the last will be the tricky bit I suspect). Has anyone tried this before, or know possible sources of trouble?
