I would guess that normal breaking action is fine. If the ABS light only is on it is likely a sensor problem and the light signals that ABS will not work. This only means it will function like a non-ABS vehicle. If it were an accumulator issue you would be seeing both the ABS and Brake Fluid lights coming on and the ABS pump running frequently to charge the system.
