Sad to say, both of them can be coincidental. Do you know about Murphy's law?
The car WILL break down after a shop visit, ESPECIALLY when a new mechanic have touched it.
As for SRS light, that can be triggered by a whole bunch of incidents. Replacing/disconnecting battery is one of them. It doesn't happen all the times.
It will happen though all the times if the ignition key is turned on at the same time as the battery is disconnected.
Having the SRS reset tool is a must for a true Saab shop, since the light have a tendency to come on so often when repairing the car.
As for the ABS light, the mechanic could have disturbed the wireharness going to pressure sensor on ABS hydralic unit. Look down into the area between fire wall and A/C belt (on driver side).
The wire harness runs very close to A/C belt and if the mechanic used another technic than usual to replace the CKP sensor, he might have disconnected that harness, or touched it. Sometimes the electric pins inside harness gets corroded and when you disturb the pins it triggers the ABS light.
Hope this helps
Anders
