More common name is "inner driver", at least if it is Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Thu, 8 May 2003 17:39:49 In Reply to: companion flange, trusweed, Thu, 8 May 2003 15:53:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
what I think you talk about.
It's the part of drive shaft that sticks out (but is mounted to) the transmission.
To get the driver out, you need to loosen the 6 bolts that holds the driver housing to the transmission, and remove a circlip inside of housing.
Actually it's a lot of dismantling of steering knuckle/lower balljoint and drive shaft before that, but I assume you know that part, and the importance of putting a 3/4" spacer between upper control arm and frame.
Do you have a new carrier bearing (tri pod) too? If driver is worn out, the tripod is most likely worn out too.
