RS - I really appreciate your taking the time to explain this to me. I could use a little clarification on your last paragraph. "You have to be careful to direct the force straight back, parallel to the ground, instead of perpindicular to the face of the headlight. Perpindicular to the face of the headlight puts an offset force on the black cylinders and can snap them off at the base." I'm not sure just what you mean. Are you saying the headlight and frame should be positioned as if they would be in the grill when smacking the lense with my palm. I've been placing the either the headlight or the frame on the ground and smacking it. Of course, I've been getting the results you note, a broken black cylinder. Also, I don't have rust on the ball end of the adjustment screw, but maybe if it is tight should I sand it down a little (already lubricating it). In the archive I found that someone suggested warming the black cylinder and white insert with a heat gun to make it more flexible. What do you think.
