cruise control that included cutting the original turn signal stalk with a hack saw and applying a cruise unit locked with two stop screws.

This after market unit didn't have the rubber bellow set up, pulling on accelerator cable under dash, but instead used an electric motor and wire system mounted on the left inner fender and the wire doing an 180 degree loop and hooked up to throttle body linkage in engine compartment.

If you don't have that motor unit, someone probably removed it at some point and time.

Just as a precaution, I would NEVER try to bring that cruise system back to life, because the customer would not want to spend that kind of money it would take.
And frankly, only a very 900 pre 85 have I seen where the cruise worked.

If you really want a cruise control, it might be better to have a shop install a whole new after market system for you.
