ID'ing an SPG - "AERO" stamp on door somewhere?

Hey all-
I'm sure this question has been asked a million times, so bear with me please!
I'm trying to help a friend determine if his 900 is, in fact, a true SPG or if it's just a 900 turbo that someone did a (very good!) job converting into a fake SPG. It's an '88, and is in good shape with 2 previous owners, but has pretty high mileage.
I've checked all the obvious stuff-
1) SPG bodykit
2) SPG wheels
3) correct (lack of) badging
4) Correct interior/exterior colors, i.e. colors that SPG's were available in
But for it to be official, I want to make a few more checks, but I'm not sure on the exact details - it's been a few years since I looked at an SPG up close.
Isn't there supposed to be some sort of stamping in the sheet metal on the door somwhere, like the word AERO or something like that?
My friend called the local dealer with the VIN to see if they could check with SAAB USA for us, and they said that they "didn't do that type of thing." (Which is odd, since I've had the same place do that for me in the past. Oh, well.)
So, if someone could confirm where AERO should be stamped; or any other unique SPG characteristics, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
