On my 900T I just put the wire in contact with the plug for the 02 sensor, and then lit it using power from the headlight switch, and ran a ground through the firewall to the ground point on the head, near the injectors. I've heard to get an accurate reading it should be grounded to the same point that the O2 sensor is grounded, which is the head. Good luck, email me if you need help.
