during there removal or reinstall?

The reason I say this is during one of my "drivetrain expeditions" I was under the gun to get it together so when it came time to reinstall the axles I rushed. In my haste and thinking they were aligned I pushed them in which worked fine on the drivers side but the pass side tri-pod clipped the edge of the inner driver knocking the bearing apart, The result being wobble-wobble and high blood pressure.

So, try and define if the wobble is on the driver's, pass or both. If it is both this might not be the case but from what you discribe it sounds like a possibility. Also, I wouldn't drive to far untill this is crossed off the list cause little metal particals swimming inside an inner driver could do some serious scoring to your drivers.
