Pure white smoke means coolant in combustion chambers. (The first startup after a head replacement on a Suzuki Samurai resulted in a cloud that covered my whole block)
Obviously blue-tinted smoke involves motor oil, usually.
Something in between is, well, something of a mixture.
If you're comfy saying "really really white" then coolant entered the combustion chambers. And that doesn't always mean a crascked head or blown gasket. There's that water-jacket thing near the throttle plate, that could've leaked... Perhaps others can offer some kind of plumbing problem as a cause.
If it's a coolant leak, you'll know: you'll obviously be losing coolant. If it was just a one-time accident or event, that'll be clear too. Take a mellow test drive, see what happens.
Hey, if the turbo bearings are water-jacketed, could we have something happening there?
Hope this helped,
Ben
