Is this a bad AMM ('92 900)?

The engine of my '92 900 (non-turbo) starts feebly from cold, then cycles to high rpm then low rpm while warming up. During warm up I have to keep the throttle partly open to keep it from dying when the rpm drops. After it's warm it runs OK except for some hesitation after a shift or at a small throttle opening.

I pulled the codes (thanks to some previous suggestions on this board) and got:
* 12231 -- no rpm
* 12112 -- mixture problem at idle
* 12221 -- no air mass meter signal <---
* 12223 -- mixture too lean
* 12111 -- mixture problem while driving
* 12241 -- mixture problem

I tried disconnecting the signal wire plug from the AMM and then it wouldn't stay running at all -- cold or warm. The engine would start, go to 2000 rpm, then immediately die. (So it seems that the AMM either is still partly functional, or something else functions better when the AMM is still in the circuit, or the original problem has nothing to do with the AMM!?)

Is this most likely a bad AMM??

Unfortunately I sold my '91 9000, so I can't try the identical AMM from that car.
