I didn't need the 0w oil. I know that it pumps faster but it is also a lot thinner on start up which could cause wear because of the thin lubrication. I'm not sure which is better. If I don't see the oil light taking longer with the 15w50 that would seem like better protection.
Also we go camping with the Saab and pull a lot of weight. I also like to drive hard. I wonder how much time passes before the 10w40 reaches 15w.
Also, I have a seasoned engine with 88k and 0w40 is for new cars and I wonder how much of the 0 weight oils are for CAFE ratings like suggested in that article given by Eiron. It makes you wonder about it.
What do you think.
