Some background info:
The experience yesterday was that I drove the car in traffic for about 15-20 minutes. Upon reaching home, I let it run for another 2 or 3 while I attempted to find something handy with which to whack the valve. So the experience was "hot" rather than a cold start.
I have checked the valve's resistance (about 6 or 7 months ago) and it was within the range specified in my Bentley manual. Also, I cleaned it at that time with carb cleaner and then used WD-40. Even after using the WD-40, the mechanism seemed stiff. It seemed better for a day or so, but then back to the old routine. I've never pulled any codes or worked with the EZKflash.
Now that you mention it, it was a 2-pin model, and if I recall correctly, there were very few years where the 2-pin model was used. LH2.4 sounds right, as well.
Thanks for all the info on this. Love this board.
