Mark & Saana,
Hi. I just wanted to clarify that. I added the relay to both my car ('84 S, relay came from '83 Turbo) and my mom's car ('90 base, relay came from '86 S). The time delay relay isn't the one that houses the door-open buzzer--at least I'm pretty sure--because Mom's '90 DID have the "ding-dong" chime sound BEFORE I installed the interior light time delay relay.
It is really simple. On both cars, all you have to do is pop in the relay! That's it. It might be hard to locate thei relay plug, at first, but fold the rear seat bottom forward (assuming it's a 3-door). Look near the ding-dong buzzer-it orange, I believe, and has a section with a small grille on it, just like a miniature speaker (which, in a way, it is). Near that relay there should be a relay plug--perhaps zip-tied out of the way to a frame rail--which has four wires going to it. That's the one you need.
I can take a digital photo and upload it to my little SAAB website, if you wish. I can also tell you the relay's part #, if that might help you distinguish which of your parts from the junkyard is the right one.
What year/model of 900 did you obtain the relays from?
