I just replaces my '89 2 weeks ago. New unit from Turbo Engineering in Colorado. Stage 1 upgrade so it has the T4 compressor and tha T3 turbine. I did do the rebuild kit from TurboCity a few years back and it lasted for a while. (30K) A bit of work on the rebuild since you have to split it apart and pull the one of the impellers off. Don't forget to mark it so when you put it back together is is still balanced. Now the the money issue, 100 for the kit and 700 for the whole unit. Your choice on the time. If you go the cheap way you will most likely be doing it twice. I found that you leave the return oil line attached to the turbo it is easier to insert the open end into the block. Either way a lot of cussing going on. The toughest bolt is the manifold to turbo, upper inboard. If I did it all over again a new unit from the get go...
