Engine stuck at ~3200 RPM?!?

Last night, as I merged onto the Beltway (maybe 60 mph in 4th gear, fairly high boost but not insane), I felt a weird power loss and my car (1986 SPG) would not drop below 3200 RPM. So I shifted into neutral, still no rpm drop. Turned off ignition, coasted to a stop. Would not restart. Volt gauge (VDO aftermarket) reading between 11 and 12 volts in "acc" and "run" positions; a/f gauge reading stoich in the "run" position with engine off (what the...?!?) and blank in the "acc" position.
I'm really at a loss as to where to start diagnosing this one. The battery is a month or two old and I never have starting trouble. Only mods are 24# FMS injectors/3 bar FPR, Red Box spec APC, Viggen BPV and 90% silicone vaccuum hoses. Engine has ~3500 miles on rebuild. Clutch has only slipped once since I've had the car; a very quick slip at 1/3 red turbo gauge boost in 3rd gear (got a little overzealous in passing), but the engine did not rev into the red.
Any advice, pointers, wild theories or vague direction would be tremendously appreciated...
Thanks very much in advance,
Scott
