You have 3 options: rebuild yours, replace the cartridge, replace the turbo. Turbo city in CA offers all three options. On an 85, I went cartidge route, only to discover cracks in the cast housing that were getting nicked by the fins. So I had to return cartridge and get a rebuilt turbo. Cracks are very common, but some have been lucky.
Also, there is an obstructed 13mm bolt head that is easy to round off. A snap-on flank drive wrench will get it out. Other than that, the only hard part of the job is replacing the oil feed line that runs under the intake runners. This pipe will have coked oil on the inside that can destroy the bearings in your rebuilt turbo, so it should be replaced. A trick for access to the banjo bolt that fastens it under the runners, is to tie the large radiator hose up to the runners with a ziptie. Then you can snake your arm and wrench uner the hose more easily.
