SPG problems

I have an 88' SPG. This is my second saab in about 6 months. I am also 17 years old. I have come to have an appreciation for the dependability, safety, and speed of these cars. But in both of my saabs I have had a lot of trouble with the starters. I had a bad starter in my 92' 900 and had it replaced. Now I woke up this morning and I am unable to start my SPG. This is a real problem because i need to get to school. I talked to some of my buddies at school and they say it the battery connection. But Im not sure it is. The starter "clicked" a couple times then died this morning. If anyone has seen this or knows what to do please help. That is problem 1. Problem two is something that may be more or less serious depending on what it actually is. When the SPG is cool as in the morning and I start it up it has idoling problems. It cycles from about 1200 rpm's to almost stalling than kicks back up again. But once it is warmed up it goes away. The guy i bought it off of says that he thinks they calibrated it wrong. But I think I have a leak in one of my vacuum hoses. Can someone PLEASE help me out on this...its killing me to have my baby sit infront of my house...thanx
