'85 C900T16, 123k

to get to my clutch master from the passenger compartment i removed my center console and unscrewed the three screws from the black plastic heating duct -- then i couldn't figure out where the last screw was, or even if one was there. so i bent the driver's side edge under the clutch instead.

getting to it from the engine compartment was a painful feat of endurance. i unscrewed the slave-to-master hydraulic line without loosening the alternator, only to discover that i didn't have clearance to remove it. the haynes didn't mention this (older brother stole the bentley) so i hit up saabnet to discover that the bentley says to loosen the alternator along with the coolant tank. coolant tank didn't make a difference but the alternator did.

once i got it off and rebuilt (eeuroparts kit) it took the help of my dad to wrestle the circlip back on, but rebulding it was simple. after that it took me about half an hour to get the clutch master on again, along with buttoning up the coolant tank and alternator.

besides getting the slave-to-master line off, this is a pretty easy DIY job as long as you loosen the alternator belt tensioner. but getting that line off is still a PITA.

going to bleed the system tomorrow (i ran out of light) then get to work on the suspension.
