A 4 door headliner willcomeout through the trunk. Just put down the back seat, drop the headliner, and slide it back. Have another person grab it from the back and pull it as you feed it to them from underneath it. You will also have to remove the rear pillars (probably want to recover them too). I'm not sure how the sunroof comes out, but my girlfriend at the time managed it so it can't be too awfully hard. Peel off the old fabric and scrub all of the ratty foam off with a wire brush until the board is about as clean as it looks like its going to come. Get 2 cans of 3M Headliner Adhesive. Its the best. Go to Joann Fabrics and buy about 5 yards of headliner material. I say Joann Fabrics as opposed to ordering some kit from a sponsor because at least if you screw up, you can head back tot he fabric store and buy more of the exact material, whereas from someplace that sells a kit, you'll have to wait for it anyway. Plan on screwing up. 1 Word of advice: Don't cut any holes. Spray the rear edge of the headliner, lay on the fabric, pat it down, spray some more on the bare board, roll on some more fabric, spray some more/roll some more, go right over the sunroof as if it were solid, spraying as you go. Work your way to the front. By the time you get to the front of the headliner, you should have enough practice that it ought to look pretty nice up there. Both times I've done this (once for my mazda mx-6 and once in my 85 900T), I laid the semi-finished board on its uncoated side on my clean garage floor, and laid burlap bags of sawdust across the headliner over night to really help form a nice bond between the fabric and the board. It worked awesome, so you may want to try to think of something of that nature if you dont have any sawdust (dogfood or concrete mix will be too heavy, mind you). The next morning, go out, flip the headliner, grab your 3M and a pair of scissors, and cut a big asterisk with several arms in the sunroof hole. Peel them back one by one gluing them down as you go. To hold them in place I use a bunch of those potato-chip bag clips until they dry for about an hour, take a break, go do some more. Then you have to do the perimeter of the headliner basically the same way. Slide it back in and screw all of the screws tight through the material, just make sure that you're all nice and lined up. Be careful of the actual cardboard, its been wet and dry since 1991, and is weak anyway, especially at the sunroof hole. It'll break right in half there, which also happened to me. Just go easy taking it out andputting it back. Remember, if it doesn't drop down, something's holding it up. Be patient and figure out what it is and resolve it. Don't force it or you'll be sorry. Good luck, hope that helps.
