I've seen some 80's vintage parts cars with perfect doors, so I'd say not all but a lot.
I think it had to do with the type of adhesive used. There are molded in holes in the plastic underneath those bubbles and the adhesive degasses I think, and expands in the pocket.
You can just peel off the skin with gentle pulling but since the vinyl's already stretched at the bubbles, if you can't find a good door or skin at the salvageyard, to reuse & repair the old skin takes a little effort.
First, fill the holes with epoxy, then scrape & sand flush with the surrounding plastic. Then, you can use a good strong adhesive to reglue the vinyl, including the bubbles. You need a real strong adhesive to hold the bubbles down, cause they'll tend to spring out again.
I used epoxy spread over entire surface, holding the bubbles down one by one with finger pressure 'til the epoxy set but a contact cement might work fine too.
