I had a similer problem with 5th and it was simply the level of oil in gearbox was a qt low. Dont ask me how but it was. The dip stick is impossible to read. I started to fill it to the top of the notch and bingo it slips in and out...anyway I was thinking, since you have tried everything elce..how are the ball and socket at the end of the shifter lever inside the car. on mine the socket was fine but the ball was cracked and worn and was giving me fits. It was easy enough to fix. It was also easy to tell it was bad because the shiter was sloppy in nutural. anyway try it.
