Just to throw in my two cents worth,
Back in Sept I bought a 95 900SE Convertible so I parked my beloved 89 900s 2dr for about 8 weeks. When I went to start it as I put the convertible away for the winter (we have hard winters with lots of salted roads) the damm thing just kept flooding and dumping fuel into the motor.
So check the obvious things as per the Bently Manual under the fuel injection section (I had a real nice strong spark) and all checks out OK but the AIC Valve. I replace it with one off a running car and still no go. Plugs out many times, dried off, dried out the cylinders, jiggled all the connections to the fuel injection system and finally the car went.
Drove it for about a week or so, left it overnight, then no start again. Push that damm thing back into the garage and then really tear down the system. So back to a flooding condition - this time remove the fuel rail, clean the tips of the injectors with carb cleaner (if you do this make sure you remove the rubber o-rings if not your gonna be replacing them they do not like carb cleaner), check the supply line to the rail, make sure there is no blockage to the return line, new fuel pressure regulator, replace all vacuum lines on the motor, re-gap the plugs, dry out the cylinders, charge the battery and then clean and lubricate (with an electrical cleaner) every ground wire and fuel injection block connector I could find on the car. Get the damm thing back together, turn it over and after truning over for about 30 second the damm thing went. That was last night and the car started on the first tick over this morning and is idling smoother than ever.
I guess to make a real long story short - I think my problem was a bunch of little things snowballing into a no start condition. The worst connector was the engine temp sensor. So before you start changing major fuel injection components CHECK the little things first - it takes a bit of time but could be the problem.
