I am just going to answer it on here, so maybe someone else can pickup on the info if needed.
Okay, as far as the signal (vacuum line) for the wastegate goes it needs to be hooked to the small hose nipple on the inlet side of the turbo housing. I guess that you can hook it up downstream, but the pressure will be the same, it actually will most likely be lower as the intercooler will cause a small pressure drop in the system.
Blow off Valves and Bypass Valves are similar as well as different. A bypass valve will stay open while the engine is under vacuum, and will close when the engine is under boost. When the throttle slams shut, the valve quickly opens to vent the pressurized air back into the intake system before the turbo.
A blow off valve is somewhat opposite. It remains closed while the engine is under boost and vaccum, but only opens when there is a larger pressure difference between the intake manifold (vaccum;pulling), and the intake piping(pressurised;pushing). This will cause the valve to open and release the pressured air vent to the atmosphere.
This venting occurs each time I am into boost, then get off the throttle. So basically every time I shift, if I am into boost:-)
