Clutch Slave Repair Posted by Pete [Email] (#2000) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Pete) on Wed, 31 Dec 2003 07:59:56 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The clutch slave cylinder on my 91 900 went under suspicious circumstances (it seemed fine until the tech flushed and pressure-bled the hydraulic system). Questions:
1. Now that the slave is completely gone, can it be repaired/replaced without taking the trans/clutch apart? That is, how big a job is it?
2. If the tech had noticed a leak and repaired/replaced the slave cylinder while it was still capable of actuating the clutch, would the job have been any easier?
The bottom line is how much all this is going to cost. I have get a new slave cylinder. If that's going to involve taking the trans or clutch apart, I might as well replace the clutch, pressure plate, and t/o bearing at the same time.
