You may have bent the shift selector rod that goes into the gearbox or the shifter itself. I noticed that this is your first post. Are you familiar with the way reverse gear and the reverse lock out feature functions on the OG 900's? In order to put the car in reverse, you have to lift the collar on the shifter. Also, in order to remove the key from the ignition the car must be in reverse. If you jammed it in reverse, I could certainly envision how the shifter mechanism could be severely traumatized.

The only way to proceed from this point is to start by looking at the shifter assembly. You'll have to disassemble the console area and remove
the shifter; it's held down by a retaining ring and 3 torx screws. If the shifter is bent or the tapered reverse lock out pin is boogered, you might be able to straighten it in a vice, but it very well may require replacement. Make sure the key is in the run position during disassembly and reassembly, so the shifter is not on the wrong side of the reverse lockout.

If the shifter itself seems OK, then the selector rod has been bent. I have never had to replace one of these (thank God!!!). This job is a MPITA, and if you're not familiar with working on Saabs, I would leave this job to an experienced Saab tech. I wish I could be of more help ! Good Luck !
